Its been 5 games since my last blog so time to update and say how it is. Average. 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw. Decent performances and pats on the back for each other are all well and good but I'm in the Mourinho mould. Give me a win any day no matter the performance!
The first of the 5 games was really a waste of time. Against Dolphin Sports, who have since folded, it was a 8-0 rout with Lenno, Maisey and Rushie each grabbing a brace. A simple job done and no goals conceded so all was good. Next up was Windsor Decor which was possibly our worse game of the season to date. No tempo or determination to our game saw us lose 4-3 with perhaps the scoreline flattering us with two 2nd half strikes. We then carried on this bad form to the start of the next game and quickly went 2-0 down to a good Albys side. Then the Jekyll and Hide of us come out as we come back and eventually drew the game 3-3. Good character from us to get back on terms but this game again showed our inability to start games strongly!
The fourth game of this spell saw us play Albion. Previous years League winners and Kent Cup finalists this was always going to be a tough game. However, how we didn't win this game is beyond me! A fantastic team performance. Team ethic, strong tackling, good passing, great defending, work rate second to none but two things missing. Firstly our play in the final third. At times we was lacking, as a team we made the wrong decisions and finishing which has been mentioned a few times by the gaffer to get more clinical came to haunt us. Secondly the referee. Everyone knows what happened and I for one believe it is possibly the WORSE game in which I have been involved with where the referee made so many mistakes and actually bottled decisions. Anyway Chelsea got absolutely robbed by a certain Norwegian cunt ref against Barca in last years semi final and Ireland since against France. This is football. We move on.
Move on we did and up came Westgate. For once we was the team who came up with the blistering start. A quick 2-0 lead but then we hit the self-distruct button. Maisey bravely stepped up for a penalty we was awarded to hopefully take the game to 3-0 but unfortunately missed. We then conceded 2 very, very sloppy goals to make it 2-2 at half time. A deserved rollicking at half time shook things up abit with us taking the lead once more but we again allowed them back into the game. Thankfullly for us Stevie Martin was introduced as sub and got the winning goal and we could go home with the three points. We played alot better in previous weeks and came away with nothing this time we got the 3 points without really performing except for the first 20.
On the whole the season has been possibly the most enjoyable I personally have started even though results have gone against us at times. To play with such a talented group of players and with the comaraderie between everyone the best in the league it is such a pleasure. The squad has 17-18 players in which everyone has a quality and has something to offer. Every player is needed and no matter who you are if you are playing at your best you will start every game. However if you feel things are not working out for you SPEAK to the gaffer and if your not one for saying how it is to him you know where I am...... top floor of the Dolphin on a Saturday night between 7-9!!! Keep it real and I'm now off to wank over Pudsey Bear!!!!!
