I've always had a fascination with storytelling. Over the past century, the film medium has become our society's leading storytelling art form. As most of us are accustomed, film usually tells a story through dialogue, sounds, music, images, and the precise way in which all these elements are edited together.
However, film can also tell a story without words or even sounds. While paintings and photographs are limited to sight and music is limited to sound, film has no such overarching limitations. The creator of a film may choose to emphasize certain elements and ignore others; it all depends on the message being told. Of all the possibilities that exist within the film medium, it is truly one of the most perfect yet diverse methods to convey one's ideas.
As a fledgling filmmaker, I have toyed with various editing programs and cameras. My interest in art began when I took a photography class in high school. Since then, several of my photographs have been displayed in art galleries and my short films have been screened at various film festivals. I am currently a graduate film student at the University of New Orleans.
