The Association of Iranian Students in The Netherlands is an organization representing a part of student community with an Iranian origin.The association has been set up by a group of Iranian students and made registered in the chamber of commerce.
The association is led by a directorate whose members are elected during the annual general meeting of all members.
The general convention of members can be regarded as policy-making body which takes final responsibility for the decisions made and policies executed.
The statute of association has a democratic nature and puts its emphasis on active involvement of Iranian students in social life in The Netherlands and solidarity with students in Iran.
-Objectives
Based on those things that are important to Iranian students in The Netherlands, association has set the following objectives to pursue:
- Bringing Iranian students living in the Netherlands in touch with each other and pursuing their interests
- Elevating the level of members' knowlleedge and persuading Iranian community in The Netherlands to seek and learn scientific and technical knowledge
- Making contacts with the other univerrssities, educational and research centers, professors and teachers, and other scientific professions in order to gather information which can be important to Iranian students and community in The Netherlands
- Solidarity with Iranian students who live under the pressure of Iranian regime and pursuing the issue of human rights in Iran
- Solidarity with Iranian students amonngg asylum-seekers and refugees
- Making efforts to remove all forms off racism, fascism and discrimination, and help flourishing a multi-cultural society.
-Methods
In order to achieve its objectives,association organizes the following activities:
- Organizing scientific, cultural, and aartistic gatherings
- Solidarity and cooperation with Dutchh and non -Dutch organizations and institutes in order to implement common objectives
- Conducting research projects and passsiing information on to the members and those interested people.
