Fanfiction is a wonderful thing. It's a way to keep alive a story that's been completed, to explore directions not taken in the original, to see what happens after the "The End" scrolls around to get those characters to do something that you really wanted to see them do, but they never did in the original (hehe). Anyone can take keyboard in hand and have oodles of fun in any world. Lots of fans do. Lots and lots and lots and lots and LOTS of fans do. So where do you start? Don't have time to slog through a couple hundred fics in one archive, or the patience to sit through dozens of works by fans with more adoration than writing skill? Neither do I. I'm fussy. ^.^ I am by no means an expert on this subject, nor even am I widely read. I'm just egotistical enough to think someone might be interested in my opinions. I certainly haven't read every fic out there, nor even a moderate piece of them, so don't be too surprised if a favorite author of yours isn't here. Heck, I haven't even read every story by the authors I'm putting up. I just like several of their works, so they get posted. Seeing as these are my opinions, they're going to be in the fandoms I've read, which aren't that many, and in the genres I prefer, which have a definite leaning towards the ANGSTY and the YAOI. Yes, Shaddy's a twisted little otaku, that she is. Not that that's all you're going to find here (I'm also a decided fan of fluff and sap), but it's a good piece. I'll give you a heads-up if there's harsh or yaoi content, but do realize that you read these works at your own risk. Not a m x m fan? Then don't read the ones marked "yaoi". Consider yourself warned. |
